- Each team will have 6 dual matches this season
- Home matches: after school go right to the tennis shed to check in so we know you will be playing. Visitor school may arrive between 4-4:30pm depending on their driving distance.
- Away matches: drive or arrange your own ride to the opponent’s school. Play will begin once most arrive to start matches, roughly 4-4:30pm depending on drive time. Check in with your coach on site when you arrive.
- Creek coach and opponent’s coach will determine how many doubles lines each school has present for the matches. Based on the number of doubles lines and available courts coaches will determine if matches will be a 6 game set or 8 game pro-set with or without ad scoring.
- Often one school has more lines than the other. When this happens the coaches will ask players if any are willing to play a second match to accommodate the school who has more lines. We will always accommodate a match however possible so no doubles lines show up without playing.
- Wear your Creek uniform if possible
- Wear tennis court shoes only. No black sole shoes allowed on courts.
- Bring your own water. We’ll often have water coolers at home matches at Creek, however some opposing schools may not.
- There will be a parent assigned to bring snacks and drinks to each match, so you may see Gatorades, granola bars, and more for you to enjoy.
- If there are more doubles lines than there are courts, some players will have to wait for the first matches to finish before starting. It’s rare to have to wait
for two matches to finish before you start but that could happen if the school doesn’t have many courts. Dual matches may completely finish by 6pm, or could go until 7pm or later.
- Be sure you have a ride home and are not waiting to be picked up. Coaches need to go home to their families too so please don’t hold them up.
- Coaches are NEVER permitted to drive any player other than their own sons, please do not ask for a ride
- It’s possible play will be delayed, paused, canceled, or rescheduled in the event of lightening or rain. Let your rides know of this possibility so you are not stranded. We do everything possible to reschedule matches if canceled.
- You do not need to bring balls for the matches but having a few used balls in your bag to hit and warm up can be helpful at times.
- Cheer on your teammates during the matches while you’re waiting
- Be respectful. Never be negative or rude to the opposing team.
- Do NOT leave your trash on the ground, on bleachers, or on the courts
- Bring a bag to hold your phone, water, etc. These are often left behind.
- Use the scoring trees during your matches so parents and coaches know the score
- All matches are doubles. If there’s an odd number of players it’s possible one match could be played as a singles match.
- If you cannot attend a match you need to let your coach and your doubles partner know in advance
- If your partner cannot play you will be paired up with a different partner. We will always accommodate a match for you.
- After the match you must report your score to your coach on site before you leave
- You may go home after your match or you can stay to cheer on your teammates. If you’re interested in playing a second match ask your coach if there’s an opportunity to do so.
